About the 2022 Race

Another year and another great race! So much positive energy from fellow runners and great volunteers..couldn't ask for anything more. It's become our family tradition to run this together.

This was the first time that I've done this race. It was fabulous! The organization, the setup, the bathrooms, the expo, the t-shirt/tank top, immediate results, and so forth. It won't be my last, and I'm going to recruit friends and my staff to join me in 2023!! Well done!

This race is unlike any 5k you will run. The race director and volunteers think of everything. Things that longer distance races should have but don't. Such a pleasure to participate in. This year, we had more friends join us and it was a great time. We don't normally travel over an hour for a 5k, but this is worth it.

About the 2021 Race

The woman’s distance festival is always a well run and fun event . The “girls rock “ attitude of fellow runners and volunteers makes this event so much fun for girls of all ages and their families:)

The Frederick WDF was my first race in a few years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The well-organized pre-race crew and the volunteers made everything run so smoothly (pun intended). I needed to only concentrate on my running because everything else was covered.

I absolutely loved how well organized this was. The race shirt may just be my favorite race shirt. The amount of volunteers was astounding; I have ran longer races with less volunteers. And everyone was so friendly.

I loved everything about it! Beautifully organized, wonderful details from the gorgeous shirts to the hand-crafted cookie and key chain awards, full range of award categories, nice and well marked and protected course, thoughtful and supportive directors and volunteers and very strong women/girl participants of all ages!!! About the 2018 Race

I'm new to Frederick and this was my first race.  I'm not as competitive as I once was, but this was a great experience.  Everyone was so friendly and upbeat!  It was a really nice course.

I liked the way you made 'visitors' from other counties feel welcome. The food was outstanding! nice surprises: the sherbet after the race,  the cold wet towels given out after crossing the finish line, the cold water given to race finishers,hot wings, fresh fruit, random prizes. the race course, the college's access to the highway. WTG!

This was my second Frederick Women's Distance Festival and I absolutely loved it again! The location is great and the course is primarily flat and well marked with plenty of great volunteers! The festival part has a lot of great vendors and giveaways. Thank you sponsors and organizers!

About the 2017 Race

 I have to give a huge shoutout to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make today such a great event. I think this race is definitely the most fun 5K of the year! It's so much fun to see so many great people out on the course either running or volunteering, and I tremendously appreciate all of the encouragement I received while I was running! You guys are THE BEST EVER. Even though 5Ks in August are hard and painful, I think I found myself grinning the entire time!

The overall race atmosphere - very positive, welcoming and enthusiastic, and does a great job to celebrate everyone's accomplishments in training and racing. I love being able to connect with and cheer on old and new running friends. There is incredible energy at the start, finish, and out on the course thanks to the runners as well as the volunteers! The handmade awards are a very special & unique touch too, and the new course is perfect! Great expos pre and post race also! All around one of my favorite races!

About the 2016 Race

It was pretty cool to line up with 500 other women (on the hottest day of the year) and run a 5k. It was the perfect celebration of all of the tough, inspiring women who love this sport and I am so grateful that I am able to run!

I was not thrilled about the idea of running in the heat when I got up yesterday, but when I arrived at the race, I quickly remembered why I now make it a point to run this one every year. Impeccable organization, beautiful course, great post-race, and, most of all, I LOVED seeing all the awesome volunteers out on the course! what a WONDERFUL race you carried off today! This was my first time running it and I truly enjoyed the support, goodies (1st in my age group!!!! LOVE THE COOKIE, LOVE THE GLASS~ with the ever-so-cool glass marker around the stem, LOVE THE BOOK~ I'm a READER!), and all the sights. I was driving from Central PA at 4:30 am to run it and it was DEFINITELY worth it!
I will FOR SURE be back next year!!!!!!!
